The path from Midge Hall to Littlebeck is very pretty and the Hermitage (carved out of stone) is well worth a visit. If you don’t want to go all the way to Litttlebeck turn left just before the Hermitage and this will take you down to the beck over a footbridge (an enchanting place for children to play) and around the back of the waterfall back to Midge Hall (do not go over the second footbridge – unless you want to extend your walk).

Alternatively, try the path to Old May Beck, following the Red arrow signs, turn left just before Foss Farm, then follow the path through the pine trees and over the top before dropping back down to the river at May Beck which will guide you along the path back to Midge Hall. Approx. walk time 1 hour.
